Social Networking and your Child
Social networking is usually an online community of people who share interests and activities. These websites provide user webpages, chat rooms, and blogging space.
Some examples of social networking sites include: Myspace, Club Penguin, and NeoPets.
Parents should:
¨ Have access to their children’s social network
¨ Make their own profile and explore the site
¨ Learn the sites safety features
¨ Teach your children to use the privacy settings
¨ Look at your children's friends list, check out friends' pages, and make sure your child personally knows anyone they select as a “friend”.
